| Dear TAF, |
Today marks the beginning TAF's 2010 fiscal year-our 14th year of operation! Each year we try to bring something new to the table because when we improve, we bring the best we have to offer to our students.
When I was a kid, my Aunt Louise used to always tell me, "It's not how much you know, it's knowing where to get information." Of course, back then she was referring to information that came from the library or the Funk & Wagnall encyclopedia, which my mother acquired by painstakingly saving green stamps from our local Acme Supermarket!
So in the spirit of Aunt Louise's words and using the vast information resources and lightening fast tools available online today, we are introducing TAF MediaLab, an online information blog dedicated to sharing TAF's work.
You can browse the TAF MediaLab to find research behind our programs, relevant news stories, background on our key educational concepts, and pictures and video from our classrooms.
But we don't want you to stop there. The MediaLab is our official deep dive into social media, where TAF will be an active
part of the conversation about the evolution of STEM-focused public
education and the creation of more opportunities for students of color. Here are some things you can do to become part of the conversation yourself:
- Subscribe to the RSS feed and get updated whenever we post something new
- Join TAF's Facebook group or start following us on our brand new, just released Twitter account (@DegreesMatter). That's another way to get immediate updates.
- Comment on what you read/see/learn
- Repost an article on Facebook or send it out via Twitter (look for the "Share" button at the bottom of each post)
- Send us any media you run across that you think deserves to be posted and shared on MediaLab
