Dear TAF,
I want to thank you for following the progress of TAF Academy and supporting our work as we made our way through this remarkable venture. We reached yet another milestone with the groundbreaking last week (See some of the first great photos of the event). It was an amazing experience, and the best part was sharing the moment with our incoming TAF Academy students.

In the News

We're taking our message to the State level. Read the latest from the OSPI.

We're 2 months away from launching our first TAF Academy in Federal Way!  As you know from reading our newsletters, TAF Academy is a PUBLIC school for 6th-12th grade students with a special emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math.  TAF Academy represents a unique opportunity for FWPS and TAF to form a partnership that will bring additional academic resources and opportunities to students and families in Federal Way. It is unique because the model and partnership are specifically designed to bring equity in academic achievement, particularly in the math and sciences from grades sixth through twelve where disparity in achievement is most alarming.

As you know, our state is 43rd in the nation in school funding, so to make this work TAF is bringing a significant amount of resources to the table. TAF is investing $1,500,000 for the 2008-2009 school year. We've been awarded grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Paul Allen Foundation and the Aven Foundation, but we have more to raise.

With your help, we can secure our first full year of resources before school starts, then we can focus 100% on supporting the TAF Academy teachers and staff so they can provide the best education to the students.

Here's what YOU can DO TODAY to help our students become the next...
